[APML] C8 dlx vs. GM-8

I currently own a older C8 tube and mount who’s electronics were fried by a
lighting strike on my observatory, and a brand new C8 dlx computerized. I
have been unsatisfied with the C8dlx PE and PEC. I am considering selling
the C8 dlx and buying the Losmandy GM-8 mount and using the older C8 tube on
it. I was wondering what some of the pros and cons of this might be.

My entire setup is on a perm. Asto pier and I would need to have a method to
attach the GM-8 to the pier (I expect Astro Pier will be able to provide
this). I am also concerned that I may exceed the 30 lb. limit for the GM-8.
  To the C8 I add for 35 mm photography, a PIXCEL 255 CCD, a Pentax K1000
camera and a Meade ETX 90 as a guide scope; for CCD imaging, a PIXCEL 255
CCD, a meade 201 autoguider and a Meade ETX 90 as a guide scope. I need to
weight all this to get an idea if it plus counter weights will exceed 30
lbs.

Does anyone have any information on the overall tracking of the C8 dlx vs.
the GM-8 or thoughts on overloading the GM-8? What do you feel are the pros
and cons of switching?

All comments appreciated.
