I've had some good luck with Kodak Elite Chrome 200, and it's pro brother
E200 (even better, but probably hard to get for you other than mail order,
given the description of your local suppliers). My efforts with slide film
have all been wide-field with camera lenses so far, but both EC200 and E200
look like outstanding films for astrophotography. I plan to try the E200 in
my astrograph if ever get back off the road and get some weather before
there's too much moon this month.

Any decent 1hr joint should see where to cut if the results are anywhere
near what you'd be proud to look at anyway. The mostly illiterate staff at
the Walgreens near me actually didn't screw up a recent roll of Elite Chrome
200, so I know it's possible. If you like the slides, tell them to "match
the slide" when making prints, and you'll probably be OK. For prints from
slides, some of these places send them out to better labs, anyway.
