Mike,

Try posting this to MAPUG (Meade Advanced Products User's Group).  I'm sure
that they can help.  Also check their archives for vast amounts of useful
information.  Sorry, but I don't have their "address".

Off hand I'd say check the date, time, and Lat/Long. settings in your
handset.  You don't say if you're in alt/az or polar mode.  If in alt/az,
make sure you are exquisitely level and startup facing due south, as per
manual.  Haven't used my 'scope in alt/az in 2 years so I forget the
procedure.
