This is the only problem I see with the HD145 (And that is why have an
AP130 on order. I feel that the HD145 might outperform the AP130 visually
but I'll still have to check this out once my AP130 arrives this spring).
The problem is versatility. You can either have an astrograph or a purely
visual scope. You cannot do astrophotography with the visual HD145 (f/6
version) but it is ideal for CCD imaging. While the f/4.5 version (the
photo version) is just too fast for visual use unless you live in a very
dark sky. One other problem is travel of the focus of the HD145 is rather
short. You cannot do eyepiece projection with it... But the price is very
attractive though..
