Perhaps you'd like to joint the ATM list? Glass pushing, optics
testing, design. Mount fabrication, computer controlled motions,
digital setting circles. And lots more!

Here's some stuff to get you hooked up to the ATM list:

http://www.netacc.net/~poulsen/atm-faq.htm is the FAQ.

>From the FAQ: You can subscribe to the digest version (one lump of a
day's worth of messages at a time) or the single version (e-mail hell
- 30-40 messages a day)

----------------------

The ATM list is the primary email list group of the ATM community.
This list is available in digest and non-digest versions.

The list is automated, so when you send your request to subscribe or
unsubscribe, no person will review your request. Make sure to follow
these instructions carefully.

Subscribing and unsubscribing to to the normal, non-digest version of
the ATM list You receive all mailings to the list in individual email
messages.

To subscribe, send email to majordomo@shore.net with the message
                subscribe atm your_email_address_here

To unsubscribe, send email to majordomo@shore.net with the message
                unsubscribe atm your_email_address_here

Subscribing and unsubscribing to the digest version of the ATM list
You receive all of the mailings to the list for a whole day in one
email message.

To subscribe, send email to majordomo@shore.net with the message
                subscribe atm-digest your_email_address_here

To unsubscribe, send email to majordomo@shore.net with the message
                unsubscribe atm-digest your_email_address_here

You may want to lurk for a few days and see what threads are
discussed. This is a very polite, well behaved list with an amazing
amount of group knowledge. I wish all were like this!

You may also want to browse the message archives at

http://www.system.missouri.edu/ics/staff/andy/ATM/search.html

One of the deans of making computer controlled telescopes is Mel
Bartels at: http://www.efn.org/~mbartels/tindex.html

Check out his sections on Computerized Dobsonians and Ultralight Dobs!

There are also lists for astrophotography and CCD'ing (building
using, image processing, etc.) that you can subscribe to if you're
interested.

Happy browsing!
