If you are worried about polarization of AC, don't be.  The beauty of AC is
it is idiot-proof.  The electricity chages direction several times a second.
A diode network in the power supply (diodes allow elec to flow in only one
direction) turns this into dc for you.  Just be sure to connect the right DC
terminals or else you very well might fry some circuits.
