I own a Canon FTb, TLb, and AE-1. The FTb and TLb are fully manual cameras
and suitable for time exposure astrophotography.

If you plan to do high resolution planetary or lunar photography, the FTb
is the best choice because of its mirror lock-up feature.

The 50mm f/1.4 lens that came with the AE-1 is an excellent lens for
widefield photography; it also works with my FTb and TLb camera bodies.
