I have a related question about scanning transparencies/negatives.

Has anybody tried using flat bed scanners (and with an optional adapter
on top) to scan 120 size and even 4x5 size of transparency/negative
images into a computer?  If yes, please share with me your experience -
is the scan quality no good at all / acceptable / quite decent / very
good...
