RE: [APML] Film is not dead
Hi all,
I just wanted to add to this thread that the local astronomy club folks were absolutely fascinated when I happened upon their star party and set up with them to do some astrophotography back in November. My little LX90 and Olympus OM-1 got about the same amount of attention as the huge 18" Dobsonian that was out there as well. Everyone seemed very impressed that I was doing film shots. I happily explained the setup and equipment (thus making it inevitable that I either left the camera set on 1/60s or forgot to pull the flip mirror on the OAG out of the way). Maybe I got a couple of people excited enough about it to try it.
So regardless of what S&T thinks, film isn't dead and is still very cool and impressive even to the average amateur astronomer..at least the ones around where I live. :)
Cheers,
Jason
