RE: [APML] Epson 4870 scanner (Was Wide field Packman nebula)

Hey Alan,

I've read up on the Epson 4870 and have heard good things about it. I'm planning on purchasing one sometime this year...they typically go for $500 or $600, depending on how much software you want.

You'll be interested to see this review: http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Epson%204870/page_1.htm It's pretty in-depth.

Yes, I have this problem with the SS4000 also. Doesn't matter if the
film was old, or just back from the lab. Still happens, it bows, or
sags.

I have been doing that and the improvement is noticeable.

A possibiity for me also.

I do; what is the cost for one of these?
And, any idea how it compares to the one I use (SS4000)?

Any other comments on ease of use, maximum dpi, etc.. would be useful
also.

Thanks,
Alan
