Hi Alan,

You may also want to consider the MicroTek ScanMaker i900. It can do
glass-less scans of up to 8x10 film, and has a claimed dmax greater than the
Epson. I got one for Christmas and have been pleased. An example scan (both
processed and raw) is at www.w4je.com/machholz.htm. I think it runs a bit
more $$ than the Epson, though.

I'm sort of interested in the Epson scanner you use. Any thoughts on
it's performance you'd care to share?
