RE: [APML] Camera testing

Somebody did this several years back, but his name is drawing a
blank right now. He did a version of the US Army optics test
patterns in Corel Draw. Perhaps someone here has a copy of it?

Subject: [APML] Camera testing

My sister used to work for Xerox (I think) and used to test theirs
and
competitions copiers and printers. What she did was to have them print
out
pictures of stick figures and lines and what not's to find out how well
they
all performed against each other. She used to bring home some of the
print
outs to show us the subtle and large differences between all the
different
makes and models. This gave me an idea and I'm wondering if I could use
something like this...

I'd like to find critical focus through my SCT and through my ST80
at
Cassegrain/Prime focus with my OM1 attached. What I'm thinking is
setting
up a 8x11" sheet of grid (1/4" squares) paper some X feet away, getting
to
focus and taking pictures of this. Would this be worth while for the
following reasons and if so what would be some of the parameters I
should be
thinking about?

Finding out how distorted the grid becomes on the film, find out how
well my
eye's are to find critical focus, find any other anomalies with the
scope/camera system?
