Hi Alan,
 You did a great job on both imaging and processing your M81 image. The only
suggestion I would like to make is to adjust the Blue channel in Levels. I
opened your image in Photoshop and adjusted the blue channel to the heal of
the black point of the curve. The overall image looks a little blue on my
monitor.
