Strictly speaking, the database (catalogue server) part of SIMBAD is
called Vizier, the image & catalogue plotter is called Aladin, and the
name resolver/object summary provider is Simbad. Find them all at the
same link:

For literature (journal & conference papers, some handbooks, including
relevant links to archived data in SIMBAD & Vizier) there's also ADS:
http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abstract_service.html
...and astro-ph, the place where astronomers who are impatient, seeking
to claim first credit, or just seeking the widest possible audience,
publish their papers before they get passed for "proper" publication:
