To all,
We'll I've tried scanning a few of my negs and I'm
not too happy.
My neg strip holder doesn't appear to hold the neg
as flat as my scanned slide images.
I'm considering mounting the negs in individual
glass mount slide mounts. Probably will use the GEPE mounts, they're
available locally and I've used them over the years. I also like the glass
mounts because they do protect the neg/slide itself.
Problem is, I already have one of my slides scanned
that shows a beautiful Newton's ring.
I'm debating whether to try cleaning the slide/neg
and mount and re-mounting or going to anti-Newton slide mounts. >From what
I remember the anti-Newton glass mounts almost had a very slightly "frosted"
appearance of sorts (it's been many years). Should I worry about contrast
or sharpness loss with the anti-Newton slide mounts? Any
experiences? Or will the image be sufficiently recovered in
processing?
Thanks in advance.
... Bill
