[APML] need suggestions on how to use a reducer with a Taurus T III

Hey all,

Sorry for the double post, I know a few will get this twice. I wanted
to also query the folks on the new ccd-uncensored list because there
are some engineering types there who may have come across this problem.
I'll try to give you as much pertinent info as I can, keep in mind that
for a variety of reasons, I am not going to go to a side by side
system.

What I have is a Tak FS-102 on a G-11/Gemini. Extremely nice combo that
compliment each other nicely. I made the decision to use an OAG here,
and I love it. With my background of using a Taurus at 3000mm, it was a
no-brainer. However, there is one limitation; I cannot use a reducer as
there is not enough infocus. I tried the Taurus reducer, then the Tak
reducer with the same results. Even racked in all the way, Vega was
still 2-4 EP fields wide and barely visible.

Eventually, I have to make a decision; keep what I have, or move to a
FSQ-106. I like this scope and feel that there is still plenty for me
to do with it.

I use a Feldstein adapter to mount the Taurus assembly to the Tak's
focuser.

There you have it, anyone ever overcome this problem?

Thanks,
Alan
