First, I emailed you directly by mistake, Greg. So here's a copy of
that message for the group with a second or additional question...
Got the film back today and can see a difference right off the bat, The
frames are darker! I'll assume that if I put regular negatives in the slide
holders I would get an overly bright sky where as the slide film appear to
be reversed (positive?) so that the sky is darker with a nicely light object
(planet or what ever). I'm assuming I'm right but then again these are the
first slides I've done so I have nothing to compare to.
Those Pakon plastic slide holders is what I got, I just asked for some
holders and these are what they gave me. I tried your trick with the
toothpicks and it works out great! Cutting the negatives with scissors is
easy but you should have told me to cut just the end frame first instead of
going after something in the middle. I didn't drop anything but it would
have made things easier ;-)
Next question.. Is there a preferred orientation to set the slides in the
holders? I'd assume there isn't but using the same orientation every time
makes for a better slide show without having to flip a few upside down
during the show. What about the film it self, is there a front and back?
Additional question, what about labeling the slides? Do you guys mark in
pen right on the plastic holders or do you put a sticky paper label on them?
or... what?
