That is now what I'm doing because it elimates elongation in the
corners during the scan. I don't do it myself. I gather my UN-CUT
negatives every couple of months and take them to the only photo place
around who does do it. Cost: 10 cents a slide. Pretty damn cheap if you
ask me. Slides are easier to handle, go in and out of the carriers much
easier, and hold the negative flatter during scanning.

There are folks here who do it themselves. Maybe they can shed more
light on that aspect for you. I'm too chicken. 8-)
