Re: [APML] Number of APML members?
I don't see any reason to turn the APML into a CCD and CMOS discussion
list. There are already lists that specialize in that.
What is the point in fragmenting specialized communities even more.
The biggest strength of each is that the experts in each field can be
found in one place.
Personally, I don't shoot film anymore. But since I have some knowledge on
the subject, I still belong to APML so if there is someone I might be able
to help with a film astrophotography question, I try to do so here.
While I don't shoot with a CCD, I do want to learn about them, so I
subscribe to the CCD mailing list. If I have a CCD question, I ask it there.
I am shooting more and more with a CMOS DSLR. If i have a question about
that, I ask on the digital_astro list on yahoo because that is where the
experts on that topic are.
I can tell you this, a lot of the experts have left AMPL when they switched
to CCD / DSLR, so if you think you'll get the best answers to questions on
those subjects here on APML, I think you're wrong.
