Re: [APML] Comet Machholz with IC1805/48 and Double cluster mosaic

Title:
Hi Chris,

Thanks for the comment. Sometimes things just work out for the positive. The 2 frame mosaic of IC1805/48 and the double cluster was on more red sensitive film and the comet was on a more blue sensitive film. The path of the comet and the one day clear weather window I had couldn't have been better to add the comet to the mosaic.

Cool John!
Great contrast of colors between the blue/green of the comet and the red
nebulas.

Hi everyone,

I finally composited a shot of Comet Machholz taken on 1/30/05 as it
passed near IC1805/48 with a mosaic I did a few months earlier if same
IC. The major difficulty was getting a seamless blend from two different
films and exposure times. The earlier mosaic was on E200 and 90 min. and
did not incluse most of the area where the comet was. The comet shotr
was a 30min exposure on Provia 400. All images ttaken with a Pentax 6x7
and FSQ-106.

This mosaic is only 1/10th ofthe full resolution. See link below

A higher resolution section of above is here:
