Subject: [APML] IC 434
January 2005 I took a lot of pictures (Abell galaxy clusters) with CCD-camera
but I could find a friend who scanned some "older" photos. For this pictures I
used my some years old Schmidt camera (Phil. Keller & Schmidtbauer), 10 inch,
6x6 cm field, 450 mm focal length.
This image is not a 5 min - shot, but a 20 minutes-shot. I used my
Wratten-filter-cassette with W 92.
If you are interested in having a look click here:
http://www.westerwald-astro.de/jjm/galaktischenebel/ic434.php
You can find from North to South:
IC 431
IC 432
GN 05.35.6.01 NW --> Epsilon Ori
NGC 2024 Flame nebula near Zeta Ori
NGC 2023
IC 435
[B 33] Barnards dark nebula - Horsehead nebula
S 277 = IC 434
The image do not show the whole field, it is strongly croped.
Best regards
Josef Mueller (JJM)
