[APML] Losmandy Dovetail Rings and Scope Finish

I setup my telescope yesterday and noticed that the screw tips on
the
Losmandy Finder Rings (108 mm) appear to be metal. This concerns me
since there is a good chance they will scratch the finish on my
scope. Has anyone experimented with gluing on rubber tips or felt
to soften the ends of the screws? Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
