[APML] On to Chiricahua
I'm off on another adventure to the Chiricahua mountains of S.E. Arizona
tomorrow morning. The focus of the trip is to meet up with APML'er Glenn
Shaw of Fairbanks, AK to complete the transfer one of my scopes to him,
but of course we're going to try and shoot if the weather allows. If
anybody in the neighborhood wants to meet up at Masai Point on Friday
night, give me a call on my cell during daylight hours at 719-330-3160.
I expect to stop off in the San Mateo mountains S.W. of Socorro NM
tomorrow night and try to shoot from there on my way, so if anybody in
the Albequerque or surrounding area wants to give that a go, let me
know. Clear sky clocks for both locations do not look promising,
especially in regards to seeing (looks like high winds ahead of the
latest Pacific front) at this time, but I'm going anyway to complete the
deal with Glenn, and you never know about weather in the West.
On a safety note, this quote from Vince and Larry - the crash test
dummies (with apologies to Willie Nelson):
"On the road again
Buckle up or you'll be on the road again
Right through the windshield and across the me-di-an
Buckle up or you'll be on the road again"
Couldn't resist after I heard it on the radio.
Sincerely,
Jon Kolb
