RE: [APML] OT: Thor's Helmet

Hi Rob,

Obviously a very deep image from the extensions of red nebulosity around the
object, The colors of the neb itself are doubtful to me, I would expect more
of a blue bubble, and red primary nebulosity. However, in light of the fact
that you had to use Ha data because of the light pollution, a bit of color
shift is not unexpected. This is a VERY dim object, and I must commend you
on the depth and amount of color details seen in this shot. That is quite
an accomplishment for your location!

Hi all,

When you image under very light polluted conditions its a difficult
task to get that dark sky look to an image. That said it is possible
but it takes alot more effort. This image took 9 hours and 4 sessions.
5 hours of h-alpha data, 2 hours for the RGB, 2 hours for the high res data.
The object is also very dim and very low in the sky from 41N making
it even more challenging to come up with something decent.

Comments welcome.
