Re: [APML] Tech-Pan Questions

Hi Gary,

It takes about 10 ounces of developer to do one roll.  I usually make just enough to do a roll and keep the remaining powder in a plastic bag.

Developing TP is very easy.  Only the developer needs to be accurately temperature controlled.

The D-19 steps are, developer for 10 minutes, stop bath or water for 30 seconds, fixer for 2 minutes, water rinse for 5 minutes, hypo clear wash for 1 minute and a final water wash for 10 minutes.  Once the film is loaded in the tank everything can be done in the light.

It's very easy so give it a try.

If you have more questions, just ask.

Thanks Roland.  As a matter of fact, I looked on B&H out of curiosity, and it is $6.00 to make a gallon.  Is a gallon enough to do 1 roll?  I've been reading Robert Reeves' "Wide Field Astrophotography" so I see there are a few things needed for a little darkroom.  I just want to process it, not print, so I might check it out and give it a try.  Thanks again.

Gary
