Actually Brian, I think your girlfriend should print out the Kodak
Tech Pub and rub his nose in it 8-)
If he really laughed at her, I suspect nothing short of showing up
with the Tech Pub print will convince him.
A few years ago, I had this running dispute with a friends professor
(with the friend being the intermediary since I was in a different
town) who insisted that the expression "it's a hard *road* to hoe" is
the correct, original expression. I told him that was nonsense, the
expression comes from farming where it is "it's a hard *row* to hoe."
People have been using hoes on rows (of crops) for a long time; I have
a hard time imagining what it profits to attack a road with a hoe :-)
So give it to him in print.
