Re: [APML] Orion Nebula & Pleiades

Nice work Jason esp. considering the conditions. We often go to a site on Inyokern Road just off the 14 and just north of Red Rock Canyon. How far were you from where we were and how do you like Indian Wells Valley?

Hello List,

I finally got a shot that I really like. Not being very deep, it's probably old hat to most of you folks, but if you knew my equipment and the conditions it was shot under, you'd likely consider it a miracle.

I also had a pic of the Pleiades come out of this roll. Even though the framing is off, I like the diffraction pattern formed around the bright stars by my SCT. This shot was a miracle....windy with gusts up to 20 mph. Seems like I was in a little pocket of (relatively) calm air, so I don't think I got the worst of the wind that night. I could hear it screaming through the mountain pass ~1/4 mile away. I stood in front of the scope acting as a wind break while my fiance sat inside the car watching a DVD. :) Temperature was about 20F.
