RE: [APML] Olympus Varimagnifier
There are 3rd-party versions of the varimagnifier still available in used camera stores. I have an example of such that fits Olympus and Minolta (and probably other) cameras that gives full FOV and is decently bright. It does, however, have only one magnification setting (1.8x?). It can be swiveled around a full 360 degrees after being placed on the camera, which is pretty useful. I wish I could remember the brand name, but it is back at home.

It does give the full FOV when you use the lower power (1.2x) setting. I just verified that using mine.
