[APML] Epson 1270 printer problem

Lately I have had some problems with my Epson 1270 printer.
Epson told me to take it to an Epson service center.
Here is the description of the problem I e-mailed to Epson:

Ink (probably black) will drop upon the rollers of the printer as it begins
to print a new page. These are tiny drops but still enough to make problems.
This only occurs with A3 paper. It will then smear
(via the roller as it turns with the advancing paper) across some of the
paper as it prints. It usually drops on the same roller (10th from right)
but I have ocassionally seen it on the 12th from right. It happens on
different ink cartridges and only appears to drip just as the printer
starts.
Printer head cleaning (as many as 3 cycles) has not helped.

Is there any experience out there for this particular problem?
