Re: [APML] A mount of dilemma
Brian - looking at the edges I do not see any obvious discoloration that
radiates from a pinpoint. I also do not see any shiny or flattened
surfaces that might indicate a old crack that opened and closed multiple
times with loading as the system was set up. So my guess would be that
you just managed to get loading on there that that pot metal couldn't
handle. It also looks like that pot metal wasn't the best either. 15$
for a replacement is not bad but I would think real hard about whats on
top. Dropping a scope multiple times just can't be real good for it :-)
Could make for interesting video though :-)
Loren - No viewing tonight. Full overcast and snowing lightly here at
Lake Tahoe. Was 16F this morning when I got up. Is now about 30 as night
falls.
