Uhm, I wouldn't trust the "72 dpi" figure to mean anything.  The
question is how many pixels does your camera have?

I'm not sure about the length of the cables, but...

Have a look at http://www.qcuiag.co.uk/ for webcam info.  There is
even a fellow who machines adapters so you only have to unscrew the
webcam lens and screw in the adapter which then fits into a standard
1-1/4" focuser.
