Marios,
Funy
you should ask. I just shot my first 6 photos with an Astroview 120 last
night. Not sure how they will come out as this was my first venture into prime
focus and I had to fight dew. 2 things about the Astro view.
1- I had to buy a 2" photo adapter to bring my
Pentax 35mm into focus. The draw tube does not have enough
travel.
2- The dust cover for this scope also serves as a
stop down. While the planetary images are small, I was able to see some good
detail on both Saturn and Jupitor, along with many of their
moons.
If my pictures came out, I will post them on my
web site in the next few days and link them here on APML.

As I read the Orion AstroView 120ST was
not designed for high-power examination of planetary or lunar surface
detail. Rather, the 120ST excels for breathtaking, wide-field images of
deep-space delectables set against their stellar backdrops.
Is the Celestron 102mm wide view
suitable for planetary and lunar surface deatail?
Thanx again!
Marios.

Dear friends,
I'd like to have your opinion about
two short tube refractors that I will use for
astrophotography.
My two choises are the Celestron 102mm
wide view and the
Are the Orion's optics as good as the
Celestron's?
Has anyone used the Orion AstroView
120ST for astrophotography?
I will use one of those for prime
focus astrofotography.
The good thing with Orion
AstroView 120ST is that it comes with a tripod and tube
rings.
I would appreciate it if you give some
advises on those two refractors.
Clear Skies,
