Re: [APML] Diffuse filter questions
Hi Dom:)
I remember awhile back reading in astronomy mag, tony and dapne's approach
to this idea....I believe they were the pioneers of this..and they used the
one exposure method.
The problem with this is skyfog limit for the most of us.
The shots taken by Akira and Tony were taken in very dark locations and they
could take the expoure with straight exposure then diffusing it.
Im sure they also use star shaping to bring the contrast down.
I experimented with the filter on for half the exposure and off for the
other half, and my problem was overexposure. My skies were 6.0-6.5 mag and
it still was too overexposed.
So after that I just stacked two seperates to get this:

(note to self....get registar!! :)
Still too contrasty for me but this was an early astrophoto of
mine....havent tried this for a few years.
Dom..theres a good target coming up for this idea.....go for M44 and
jupiter..they should be almost dead center on april 3rd through the
6th...but now is a good time to practice with a wide lens...they are pretty
close
Alson is a good guy....havent talked to him in awhile:)
Last time I seen him was on Mysky, but now I cant post there or access
Ngroups:(
Anyways, take care
