[APML] (OT)-Tak EM-1 mount to be going on astromart

Hi all,

I feel fellow list members deserve a heads up just in case someone is
looking for what you happen to be getting rid of. At some point within
the next week I will be putting my Tak mount on sale. I do have a
problem though, I'm not real sure what it's worth.

Art Ciampi at Texas Nautical says "it's an excellent tracking mount and
should bring about $1500". I searched the entire astromart ad archives
and there's not one example of this mount for sale. There were 6 or 7
EM-2s listed with prices ranging from $1300-$1650. There was one EM-1S
listed at $1200 that claims to be "equal to the EM-2S and will hold 15
pounds". I haven't heard of either of the "S" models so I don't know
how to compare any of these. I do know that my manual says this mount
will carry 22 pounds. It easily holds the 85, guidescope, camera, IREP,
reducer, etc...

This mount is complete with wooden tripod legs (legs are nicked here
and there), illuminated polar alignment scope, standard counterweight,
4 D cell battery pack to power the mount in the field. This is an
excellent field scope. I've used it with my TV-85 and it has a locally
custom made ($160) adapter to hold the 85 using the 85s clamshell ring.
Also has a single axis hand controller and the mount has provision for
increasing or decreasing the correction speed.

Contact me off list if you have any questions (or answers) that I can
help with.

Thanks,
Alan
