They are passable. But keep in mind that if you want quality in this
hobby, you usually have to pay (big time) for it. The stock LX200
mounts are the minimum I would recommend and may also require some
tweaking once you start getting picky.
I can tell you that I used a 10" LX200 for 7 years and now a 12" LX200
for the last 2 years. I've been using them for prime focus AP for about
6 years and you know what?.. these are really nice scopes to indulge in
astrophotography. It will probably be years before you outgrow what
they can do for you. There probably isn't a better value around,
especially if you get one with the reduced prices. OTOH, if you want to
work with wider fields you'll need to piggyback or get a smaller scope.
