I find several things about this shot fascinating:
1. This object is well placed in the sky.
2. 2174 is larger than the Triffid Nebula, which makes it a great film
target for longer focal length scopes.
3. It looks to be fairly bright and not too tenuous.
4. Notwithstanding the fact that Rob has over 3 hours of CCD exposure
time invested, I am surprised that I have never heard of this.
I attempted to shoot it last night but I don't have high hopes as
numerous equipment issues were popping up due to cold air, hopefully
not to operator error. :-)
I wonder if any of you have a film image of this one?
