[APML] Small-scope mount advice needed
Hi all,
I'd like to be able to go to a different mount for my TV-85 by this
summer. It sure would be nice to be able to check out other scopes and
such instead of being glued to a reticle EP all night, don't you agree?
I currently use a Tak EM-1. Good and solid but only single axis
correction and it is not autoguider compatable. So, I'd like to ask for
your advice and wisdom as to what suitable mounts might be out there. I
figure it's not too early to get my homework done and try to dig up
financing.
Here are my needs:
1. Must cost less than $2000, preferably around the $1500 range. I
don't have a problem with used equipment.
2. Dual axis correction
3. I'd like to be able to use my current autoguider, a 208XT.
4. Limited GOTO would be nice, but maybe a stretch for this price
range.
5. Carry a TV-85 along with guidescope, camera, etc..
6. Ideally, the mount would also be strong enough to handle a 4 or 5"
apo if I'm able to upgrade in the future.
Also if any of you have an idea what my current mount is worth, I'd
like to hear your opinion.
Thanks,
Alan
