Re: [APML] Rosette Nebula, SNR and Supra 400
Nice one Chris - Happy Jack looks like a great site, but it must be high
enough to get close to Canadian temperatures! I have a shot of the Monoceros
Loop done on tech pan using a 180mm telephoto. It extends from the Rosette
to the Cone. If you point your 5" Schmidt in that direction, I think that
you can get the whole loop. It might need a tech pan/W92 combo to add to the
red channel. The loop isn't all that bright.
It is starting to look like Supra 400 is no longer available in Canada.
The magazine I ordered it from (SkyNews) has been selling it for a couple of
years. They called me today to cancel my order. They can no longer get it
from Kodak Canada, and three other suppliers have turned me down so far. I
guess that it is sort of a moot point anyway, it hasn't really been clear
here since November.....

Another image from Happy Jack in northern Arizona, of a bit overexposed
Rosette (you have to watch those extreme 8 minute exposures), and a very
faint tattered SNR you may have not been aware of:
