Re: [APML] Ash Lurie Schmidt alternative

Hi,

There ain't no "they" here: it's "he". The owner of the company (Astro
Systems Holland), a fellow named Hermen ten Haaf, has been building
telescopes since childhood. Very interested in astrophotography, but
never time to pursue, because he's always busy making telescopes or
astronomical equipment for other people. His mission: to make the best
amateur astrograph ever! I believe he has made two Luries so far, but
there are designs for even better and more complicated optical systems.
The price he asked last year was about € 8000,- (if my memory is
correct). Not that expensive when you know how much time and effort he
has put in these instruments. The optics are made in Russia. I do not
know the exact company.
