I made a dummy battery for my Minoltas using a 1/2-inch wooden dowel and a
brass thumbtack. The dimater was perfect for the Minoltas. You can see how
I did it at http://www.robertreeves.com/cluster.htm Drop down to the forth
row of pictures to see it. Not mentioned is the need to file a small groove
in the side of the dowel to allow space for the wire to pass through from
the positive contact (thumbtack). I did not bother with a negative conract
on the dummy battery as the extermal battery negative lead can be clipped to
the base of the camera with an aligator clip. The dummy battery is held
into the battery chamber by the camera mounting bracket I use when doing
long exposures with these cameras. The negative terminal clip actually
clips to the mount bolt in the tripod socket hole. It works for me.
