Re: [APML] counterweights
Talk about kluges---last year on a trip to the Sierra, I remembered the
mount, scope, pier, weights...yup, everything except the counterweight
shaft! It was a one night stand, and it was too late when I discovered the
problem to buy a piece of pipe or anything reasonable, so I had to find a
TREE LIMB of about the right diameter and carve it down to fit into the end
of the dec axis and accept the lightest counterweight. With a lot of duct
tape, I was able to use it for visual, but imaging was out of the question.
I wish I had taken a picture of the setup!
