A couple of suggestions:

There is a "quickcam" guider conversion that you can do for relatively
minimal cost.  

You may also be able to find a Cookbook camera for very little (or 
make one yourself for that matter.)  The software for that camera
supports guiding also.

The downside is the need for a computer in both cases.  But an old 
'486 laptop that you should be able to find for very little money
will run the software just fine.
