Hey all, I need some advice here. Both my dad and I have used the Celestron C8 Deluxe for a number of years now. I am happy with mine and its upgrades (heavy duty wedge, etc, STV soon!!!!!), however, my dad is retired, has lots of time, and lots of money. He wants to up grade.
1. He has his sights on the Meade 10 inch GPS. I have some reservations about it because it is so new (nothing against Meade from me). I am also nervous about the hand controller every going and leaving the scope unusable (could you use a laptop to control in this case?). Maybe too gimicky I don't know.
2. My idea to him was the Celestron 9.25 on a Losmandy G11. Cost is close though and no goto.
Does anyone have any opinion or ideas I could share with him about these options (or other ones). Any comments at all are really appreciated.
