Thanks to all that responded. I'll see what I can find locally
and online.

I spent a lot of time looking into this and decided on
the HP5000 based on the stability of the ink. I obtained
test images from HP and Epson (on an Epson 10000). The
pigment based inks are, of course, very stable but are
lacking the gamut needed for astrophotos. The Epson inks
are stunning, very vibrant and deep blacks, however, after
about 4 weeks in a south facing window the Epson inks
faded more than the HP and shifted towards orange. The
HP 5000 inks showed a VERY SLIGHT fading but no color
shift.
This sounds bad (after only 4 weeks), but to put it in
perspective the HP samples had some ink pin writing on
them. After about 4 days it was GONE. The consumer based
HP P1000 washed out almost completely after 4 weeks. Now,
I have P1000 images in my office that look great after
two years. Based on this I would estimate the hp 5000
images to last a decade or more, and indeed Wilhelm
Research seems to confirm this. Kodak claims their
papers will last even longer and that is what I am
using now.
I also have a designjet 20PS. The image quality on this
is outstanding, better than the 5000. It will only do
13x19, however, and the inks are consumer based. My
fade test on this printer a show similar results to the
P1000. Fairly fast fade but no color shift.
