Hi Scott,

About the only thing you can do is use the rubber stamp tool (a/k/a clone
tool) and replace the image area where the glare is.  There is basically no
image information in this area, so you will need to carefully select (always
take very small, adjacent samples) and replace the area with surrounding
image info.  No amount of other processing will restore something which
isn't there.

If you want to send the image to my private email, I'll do it for you so you
can see the kind of results which can be attained.  It will not be until
next week though, as I'm leaving today for the Winter Star Party and won't
be back until Sunday.

By the way, using a polarizer will not help with specular reflections like
this.  You simply need to avoid them when taking the image.
