All,
On the topic of scanners, has anybody noticed the Epson
Perfection 2450 PHOTO Scanner? I saw it for
$349 dollars. Its a 2400x4800 optical resolution flatbed with a 4"x 9"
transparency adapter unit built in.
I realize that its not a dedicated film scannner, which
are far more expensive, but are there any thoughts on how this would be
for an intitial foray into scanning? I have been having my film
scanned when processed and have gotten back uneven results. At times the
processor hasn't even burned a disc because the photos "didn't turn out"
according to them--despite my instructions to
scan everything.
I'm not sure my skills are at a level yet where I want to go
to the expense of a film scanner, or to sending them out to a specialized
processor.

Tony,
It
was FIVE times that amount when it first came out, but who's counting
<g>. (Only those of us who bought one when it first came
out).

Donnie,
I have seen refurbished
Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus scanners with a warranty for $400... in my
experience this has been a real work horse and produces excellent
results... it used to cost four times that amount... this is a
deal.
