The pelican cased are fantastic.  I used to swim from a boat to a island 
using a pelican case filled with camera equipment to float on.  Never a 
leak.

In you live in a humid area be careful to THOROUGHLY air out the contents 
before storing the contents.  The trapped moisture will corrode 
connections and mildew can do nasty things to optics.  Of course the case 
itself will be fine.

Check out local Scuba shops as well as camera stores for Pelicans.  If you 
ever visit the Florida Keys the dive shops there have some great sales.
