[APML] Film is not yet dead



I'm a big fan of CCD use for amateur science, but the March 2002 Sky &
Telescope (page 68) article shows that film is still a preferred tool for
nova patrol.

Some recent examples of a nova that barely reached naked eye visibility
(easy in binoculars):
