Re: [APML] IDAS LPS filter

No, it isn't the government taxing imports.
The import duty is around 6%.

It's Meade and/or the importers. From what I've heard, Meade mainly. Sheer
blind greed.

where thankfully we still have our own money. I was looking at buying a MEAD
6" LXD55 for viewing only in the us mag's it was something like $695 so i
figured @ an exchange rate that seems to work in reverse i'd pay £895 in the
uk actual exchange rate would make it around £500 but no in the uk we have
to pay £1295 or $1900 so if i take off taxes at 17.5% I am paying $900 or
£600 to have the manual translated from american into english (yeah right)
and shipping to the uk a flight across the pond is only £250 if you look
around. so i asume that each item shipped from the states is hand delivered
by a mead employee with his wife.;-) this is not just mead it applies to
everything we use to be able to see a $ price and assume same numbers but in
£ now it's see a number double it, multiply by the suppliers zip code,
divide by the flight number, and add the fist number you thought of. sorry
for the rant
