Warren,

I need a higher powered loupe with an adjustable focus for focusing on
ground glass. The guy at B&H refused to discuss anything over 6x it because
he didn't understand the nature of astro work and needing to see the matte
up close. Jerry, et al- the 22x Peak does not adjust and I don't think the
15x does either. Any other inexpensive ones? Perhaps Bobby M's idea of an
eyepiece sans barrel will work for me? Thanks, Warren

The simplest and most effective focusing device that I have made
was done by the following method:

Take a small 15X loupe with a plastic base and grind/sand down the
base until the ground glass is in focus when the loupe is in contact
with the back side of the glass.  That's it.  I don't think you want the
magnifier to be adjustable, unless you have an unusual situation.
